Telly Laws

I thought I desperately need to put before you some real wisdom we better gain from the Indian Serial aka Soap Opera. So here go some serious facts for you.

1. The first Law of Telly Wisdom: - "Use well and Reuse a lot".
Facts: Mr. Software engineer you better learn lots of reuse from our Serials. I guess here is how the script for popular television serials looks like.
Episode 235: Aasman sees Antariksh and cries in happiness recollecting their relations.....
.....
.....
Episode 7568: Goto Episode 235. Show it once ... er.. twice...
......
......
Episode 12904: Goto Episode 7568, then Goto Episode 355 ( show Antariksh crying for Aasman)

I bet my money on the script writers, they are the best algorithm writers. They are the best reusers of the script!!!!!! The script must be using lots of the rules of programming like loops, conditions, functions and I wont be surprised if there are flowcharts between episodes as well.

2. The Second Law of Telly Wisdom: "Extend, Expand and Prolong"
You know this, I guess this needs no explanation.. but anyway some facts.... Just what are the things our super intelligent script writers do to make the serial last... just laaast....
a) Misconceptions e.g.1. Just when there is a brother-sister kind of embrace between sita and raja, ram sees and misconcieves their relationship and hundred and 2 outcomes result.. there by the serial extends 100 more weeks...
b) Add New Relations (from nowhere) e.g.1. Add a separate family branch to the lead characters... that is the father of the lead star has a relationship out of wedlock and all the pandemonium breaks in and with it brings in lots of new characters, dimensions and episodes of course.....

I end it here... I am off to watch the daily soap for more inspiration on this post.

Happy Viewing...

P.S.: No No this post wont be "continued". Dont Worry Be Happy ;-)
